Jifan Medical Scholarship
Short Story
Support Raneen Become a Voice of Healing in Gaza
Story
I am Ranin, a third-year medical student. Since my early childhood, the dream of practicing medicine has always accompanied me. It was never just a passing wish, but a clear goal that I pursued with passion and unwavering determination.
I have always been an outstanding student, consistently ranking first throughout all my school years. This journey culminated in high school, where I achieved a grade of 99%. Before university, my life was filled with ambition and achievement; I advanced through English language levels to prepare for the IELTS and memorized 20 parts of the Holy Quran, which instilled in me a deep sense of discipline and perseverance.
By the grace of God, my dream of joining the Faculty of Medicine—the one I had always longed for—finally came true. However, the war brought what no one could have anticipated. It tore our loved ones away from us, displaced our families, and broke things deep within us that words cannot describe.
Despite all this pain, we never lost hope. Instead, we continued to strive and give back. We were committed to supporting our people in every way possible, sparing no effort in volunteer work and serving those around us, believing that hope and action are our only path forward.
But today, in light of the current conditions in the Gaza Strip—from the soaring cost of living to the point where citizens can barely secure their daily bread—how can one afford exorbitant university fees that exceed the capacity of any employee? This burden is even heavier when there are two of us studying medicine in the same family. The tuition fees have become a crushing weight that exhausts us and consumes our thoughts.
